Dr. Victoria Donovan is an Assistant Professor of Forest Management at the University of Florida. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019, an M.S. from Laurentian University in 2015, and a B.S. from Queen’s University in 2012. Dr. Donovan’s research is broadly focused on understanding how disturbance processes like fire can promote or degrade ecosystem resilience across spatial and temporal scales and how this information can be used to support social-ecological systems management. Much of her research has focused on understanding changing wildfire regime dynamics in the Great Plains and Eastern United States, how variability in wildfire and prescribed fire regime characteristics shapes ecosystem structure and function, and how this information can be used to manage for ecosystem services. Within EFNet, Dr. Donovan contributes expertise in spatial data integration and modelling of changing wildfire regime dynamics and the wildland-urban interface (WUI).
